Don Gurnett and Bill Kurth are physics researchers at the University of Iowa. They participated in NASA’s Voyager mission, which aimed to send a space probe beyond the sun’s influence. Kurth and Gurnett found evidence that the Voyager 1 probe has become the first man-made object to enter interstellar space. The WSS asked them about the Voyager project and how science education has influenced their careers.
