Hoodie March for Trayvon Martin takes over Ped Mall

Local Iowa City residents took over the Ped Mall Monday night, in an effort to show their outrage and frustration involving the controversial shooting and killing of Florida teen Trayvon Martin. The march, which started at 6:30, was accompanied by various speakers hoping to show their support of the movement. People wore hoodies as a sign of respect and protest during the event, and likened Martin to a martyr for civil rights.
