Redemption: West High boy’s soccer beats City

After last years loss to City High in the third overtime of penalty kicks, West High boy’s soccer was ready to get back out on the U of I field to redeem themselves. It looked like deja vu after the first half ended in a tie of 1-1. The second half began with more of the same as City scored to lead the game 2-1 with a quick follow-up from West’s Ben Troester ’14 to bring it to a tie once again. The turn around came when Bryton Ostler ’12 scored to give West the lead. The score was now 3-2 West with only 15 minutes left of the game. Running on adrenaline, Marco Cacho ’12 was able to score one last goal and secure West’s victory, 4-2.
