The Iowa City Music Auxiliary will be hosting a car wash on Saturday, Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at various locations around town. This annual car wash and fundraiser supports music programs in the Iowa City Community School District.
“The Music Auxiliary car wash generates about 25% of the budget each year. It goes to support band, choir and orchestra programs for grades 4 through 12,” said West High band director Rob Medd.
This year, car washes will be held at four locations: Sherwin-Williams, 841 Highway 6 East; Hy-Vee, 812 1st Ave. ; University of Iowa Community Credit Union, 825 Mormon Trek Blvd.; and Two Rivers Bank & Trust, 805 22nd Ave. The cost is free, but donations are welcome.
