“I promise not to look at the camera.” This man was playing a heartbreaking song. The only part I could for-sure catch: “…and then I saw him look into your eyes…”

Inspired by Brandon Stanton’s project, Humans of New York, the West Side Story has begun to seek and capture on film the people that make Iowa City, well, Iowa City.

biker — In a hurry.

This man was playing a heartbreaking song.
The only part I could for-sure catch: “…and then I saw him look into your eyes…”

hiding from the rain — She looked like she was waiting for someone.

you could hear his music for hundred of feet around copy — You could hear the melodies he was playing for hundreds of feet around.

beautiful — On an autumn day.

chicken feet — They were drawing chicken feet with chalk on the sidewalk.
