Summer of the Arts

Summer of the Arts in Iowa City is back starting this Friday, May 16, 2014 to kick off the summer fun.  Every Friday night until September from 6:30pm-9:30pm, families and friends will gather together outside of the Sheraton Hotel in front of the Iowa City Public Library to enjoy an evening of music–and it’s free too.  The first band to perform this season will be The Fez.  A different group will perform each week, for example bands such as Winterland and Shade of Blue.  Information about the Friday Night Concert Series and its lineup is available on the Iowa City Summer of the Arts website.  Also included in Summer of the Arts are events such as Saturday outdoor movies in the Pentacrest, Jazz Festival, and Arts Festival.
