Students celebrate New Year’s with various traditions

Those are the numbers thought to be synonymous with New Year’s (Rockin’) Eve. Along with a 12 foot wide sparkly crystal sphere, a handful of celebrities and plenty of noisemakers and novelty glasses to go around, Times Square probably seems like the place to be on December 31. (Or sitting in your living room as you watch the celebration unfold on T.V., only to realize you still have another hour until 2017 officially hits your neck of the woods.) New Year’s Eve really gives anyone the perfect excuse to stay up partying and having a grand ol’ time.
