The Spike makes it's way through the triumphant hands of the girls varsity volleyball team and the student section that cheered them on after their win against City High on Sept. 5 for the third consecutive year.
The Women of Troy took home another win against City High, giving them a 7-4 score for the season. Although the match between the Iowa City rivals doesn’t count towards the team’s conference score (the games used to determine conference rankings), the team agrees that the win Tuesday night will help them this upcoming season.
“Beating City is always an exciting accomplishment, and I can’t wait to play more games with the same energy we had [this] game. We’re going to keep getting better, and this is going to be a great season!” said Liz Walters ’18.
“We learned that we had to work on certain things and we have to focus on our side of the net and eliminate errors. We are looking to use this win as another stepping stone to a really strong season.” said Kushi Kapoor ’18
