Student-athletes honored at winter signing

Nine student-athletes were honored in the West High cafeteria for committing to continue playing a sport in college.

Parents, students, teachers and coaches alike gathered on Wednesday, Feb. 7 to congratulate nine student-athletes on National Signing Day. This celebration was held to commend these individuals for committing to continue their athletic careers at post-secondary schools.

Five out of the nine students were present at the celebration. Hover over the dots on the image below to see why these students chose their respective schools.

Jake Anderson: Basketball at Central College

Nelson Brands: Wrestling at University of Iowa

Ben Cupp: Baseball at Wartburg College

Brad DiLeo: Tennis at Central College

Dillon Doyle: Football at University of Iowa

Francis Duggan: Wrestling at Iowa State University

Brooke Goodman: Softball at University of Dubuque

Ethan Postler: Football at Moorpark Junior College

Dillon Shepherd: Football at Ellsworth Community College
