Although the final presidential debate sounded slightly less like a schoolyard fight than those prior, it was still a trainwreck. Whether he was downplaying the impact of COVID-19, denying systemic racism, dismissing universal healthcare access or spewing lies about his opponent, President Trump’s blatant disregard for the country’s issues exemplifies his need for power. Although former vice president Biden leads in the polls nationwide, the onus is on eligible citizens to follow through and vote. Even if Biden wins, a peaceful transition of power is not guaranteed. With the additional A.C.B. confirmation and third wave of COVID-19 on the horizon, the horrors of 2020 are far from over.
