Art Club
Art Club is a group of students who love the arts and enjoy their craft. Art club meets every Monday and works on a variety of projects from printmaking to community art installations. In art club you can socialize with other people of the same interests and discover new ways of creating together.

Business Professionals of America
Business Professionals of America is a national career and technical student led organization for serious business students. At West High, the club is led by an Executive Board of selected students. These individuals motivate and manage our 50 member chapter. Events BPA attends include a Fall Leadership Conference (October), State Leadership Conference (February) and National Leadership Conference in Dallas 2022 (May). In addition, locally, weekly meetings are held on Tuesday mornings to develop business and career readiness skills with all members.

Dongari
West High’s Korean culture club “Dongari” creates a multicultural environment for students especially interested in learning about the Korean culture. Our aim is to spread the influence of Korean culture at West. Anybody is welcome, as we would also like to learn about cultures apart from Korean! We discuss and learn about the Korean language, traditions, holidays, or watch movies and play games.

Theatre West, Iowa City West High’s premiere drama program, prides itself on being a diverse and welcoming troupe that produces spectacular family-friendly shows. Grapevine (Literary Magazine)
The Grapevine, formerly Favonius, is West High’s student-produced, literary magazine that showcases students’ creative writing and visual art skills. Each publication is comprised of written works such as poetry, short stories, and shorter prose pieces. Original drawings, artworks, photographs fill the pages as well. The club itself meets weekly to discuss student submissions with the intent of putting together a publication.

Hip Hop club is basically for students interested in the music industry. They are being introduced to what artists registration and licensing also how to record their own music as sera’s stage presence in regards to performing. It also gives the students a safe place to be them and speak there minds in a nonjudgmental environment which focus on mental health.

Mu Alpha Theta (Math Club)
The only “requirement” for participation in Math Club is a general interest in mathematics. The Math Club meets on Tuesdays from 8:00-8:45 in room 206. Activities that students can participate in through their participation include: math competitions at various locations in the midwest, mail-in math competitions and access to student-led presentations. Most importantly, Math Club provides members with an opportunity to communicate with their peers about the fascinating world of mathematics.

Membership eligibility includes being a junior or senior and having a 3.5 or above grade point average, completion of at least two years of a world language, three years of math, and three years of science. In addition, the successful candidate demonstrates good character, leadership and service.

TSA JETS (Junior Engineering Technical Society), Technology Student Association
JETS students compete every year in the national TEAMS competition sponsored by the Technology Student Association. The Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science (TEAMS) is an annual competition for middle and high school students designed to help them discover their potential for engineering. During this one-day competition, students apply math and science knowledge in practical, creative ways to solve real-world engineering challenges.
