The student news source of Iowa City West High

“This is a piece I made during AP Art when I was reflecting on what makes a perfect family. In this piece, it is presenting the way society wants you to [imagine] a perfect family picture. The labels over the eyes [are] what society expects you to assume when you look at each person, but if you look closer, they have something crossed. The father has his arms crossed, the mother has her fingers crossed, and the daughter has her legs crossed. Having something so subtle change the whole perception of a piece is something I love to look for and include in my art.”
