“ I plan on going to UNI or a conservatory like Jacobs [for college]. I want to be a viola performance major with a minor in business so I can open a studio. Then I’ll commission off art and be in a professional orchestra - I’ll need all kinds of other jobs just to make up for income I won’t have being a musician. I’d rather have not as much income than hate my job.” -Anna Moses ‘19

Perseverance is a big thing. A lot of people when they pick up a new instrument, especially when they have been playing an instrument for a long time, kinda expect themselves to be really good at it. They just give up. That was kind of like me, when I tried to learn the flute. I kinda gave up, but that was also because I didnt have any motivation to actually play the flute. With the mellophone, I actually understood that, its basically like starting back in fifth grade. Sure, I might be able to make progress a lot faster, to mature, but the big think is to keep practicing, and the cliche stuff, like yourre not going to see improvement in a day of two. -Chen-You Wu 20

“My favorite class was AP Computer Science last year. I just found the computer programming pretty fun and learning the logic behind it was one of my areas of interest. It is most likely [something I want to pursue in the future].” -Leo Shriver ’18

“When I started swimming, it was to overcome my fear of water. However, now I swim for the friendships I have formed with teammates through braving practice and competing side-by-side at meets. I hope to continue to swim competitively in high school and join an intramural team in college.” - Steven Yuan ’19

“It is always important to have a passion in your life and someone who inspires you. For me it is music and Lil Pump. I’m in band and I also aspire to be Lil Pump because he is only seventeen years old and is the rapper of the century. [He] is a millionaire, has a $100,000 watch and a $30,000 watch.” - Jack Gray ’20

“I’m thinking I want to be an Econ major. I took AP Econ here and I really like the subject. It’s sort of like a practical social science that feels more straightforward. It’s not like regular math where I felt like the only practical application for me would be engineering.” -Rui Jin ‘18

Games are cool, and writing can be cool if its with a computer. [When I started] I was programming games on calculators; on my computer, I made games that took up more CPU like a tower defense game. Right now, Im working on random stuff; I just copied a compressing program and made some random games. Im probably still going to program in the future. -Kevin Liu 18
