Live Like Line volleyball extravaganza
West High hosts volleyball tournament in honor of Caroline Found and wins third place.

The fourth annual Caroline Found Volleyball Extravaganza kicked off this morning at West High School’s gym. This event hosted Ankeny, Cedar Rapids Washington, Clear Creek Amana, Dyersville Beckman, Dowling Catholic, Dubuque Wahlert, Marshalltown, Mediapolis, Mount Vernon, Pella Christian, Waterloo Columbus, and our Iowa City West. Energies ran high as the day went on, and the competition was fierce. West High ended the day in third place. Their scores for the day were as follows:
Game One: West vs. Marshalltown

Throughout the day several West High players consistently performed well. Madison Fay ‘17 had numerous great sets during the matches. Emma Norris ’17 got a large amount of points for the team with her spikes, and she was often in the right place at the right time while receiving the opposing team’s serves. In the first round of the championship the final point was won on a tip by Colby Greene ’18, number 26. During the last round of the championship number 11, Emily Halverson ’17 had several great blocks.
