Coming off last week’s busy schedule, West’s girls tennis team was ready to return to their home courts to compete against Prairie April 17.
West swept singles quickly, with Sasha Postnikov ’25 and Grace Wang ’27 winning their matches in straight games 6-0, 6-0. Sophie Singh ’27 and Marie Stier ’25 finished with near-perfect scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1, respectively. The rest of the team followed suit, finishing with Elsie Gross ’27 winning her season debut match 6-3, 6-4.
In doubles, the team of Iris Vasi ’28 and Wang continued to dominate on the court, winning their match 6-1, 6-0. Likewise, Postnikov and Stier finished with 6-1, 6-0 right after Vasi/Wang. The meet ended with a hard-fought doubles win by Audrey Crawford ’26 and Claire Hahn ’25 in a third set tie-break.
