Community members and students from all over the Iowa City Community School District came together to honor and celebrate Dashiell Codd’s eighth birthday on Nov. 25. During this event, participants helped raise awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer by taking part in a two mile glow run. Much of the celebration was held at the North Ridge Park Pavilion, however during the glow run, participants ran on the paths of the park surrounding the Pavilion. The occasion included a balloon release, homemade cakes and hundreds of glowing accessories and decorations.

All proceeds raised by this event are going to the University of Iowa Dance Marathon to provide support for families fighting cancer at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.
