WHSDM 2016
Community members came together to raise awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer.
West High School Dance Marathon (WHSDM) held it’s fourth annual dance marathon Sunday, January 17th. Community members and students from all over the Iowa City Community School District came together to raise awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer.
The “Big Event”, as WHSDM called it, was held in the West High School Cafeteria. Participants danced on stage, ran on the treadmill, took part in a raffle drawing, and participated in other planned activities.
At the end of the dance, it was revealed that WHSDM raised $95,034.22. The money will go to the University of Iowa Dance Marathon to provide support for families fighting cancer at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.
