The National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) and Journalism Education Association (JEA) announced the winners of the Pacemaker and Best of Show Awards on April 16 at the National High School Journalism Convention in Los Angeles.

The April edition of West Side Story received ninth place newsmagazine in the Best of Show contest. For more information on the contests, visit the NSPA website.

Five West Side Story staff members and adviser, Sara Whittaker, attended the convention, toured the Los Angeles Times and met with professional journalists from the area. Click here for more information on the convention.
