Food review: BK Mac n’ Cheetos

Read on to find out what Burger King’s Mac n’ Cheetos™ are really like.

I’m all for trying new things. That being said, when I saw my favorite chips were being revamped to include mac and cheese in the middle, I was pretty excited.

On June 27, Burger King released nationwide a struggling attempt at maintaining a slot in the fast-food industry — Mac n’ Cheetos™.They’re advertised as “perfect for snacking on the go” and filled with “creamy mac n’ cheese.” I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you actually think that mac and cheese deep fried in a fake Cheeto shell could be creamy, you’re sadly wrong.

I have to say, these little heart attack sticks really aren’t good. I’m a big fan of Cheetos, and the outer shell of these tastes absolutely nothing like a Cheeto. It tastes comparable to what I imagine putting flax seeds in a deep fryer would taste like. Plus, there wasn’t even any Cheeto dust on there! I mean come on, the highlight of Cheetos is the cheesy dust you have to lick off your fingers.

Anyway, to the “mac and cheese” that was inside of the “shell.” Gross. Sorry, this was actually the worst part. It was extremely salty and chunky, along with being quite flavorless. It was all around a bad experience. I could only get through one and a half of them, too.

If you’re looking for your cheese fix, I’d recommend just getting a regular bag of Cheetos. Also, anything that is as orange as a girl getting ready for prom should not be edible.

Overall rating: 2/10

P.S. the word “Cheeto” was used eight times including right here.
