Women of Troy move onto semifinal round
On Monday, Feb. 26 the girls basketball team travelled to Des Moines to battle against No. 3 West Des Moines Dowling Catholic.
West faced Dowling Catholic in the quarterfinal round. A close match that was tied at 21 at halftime went into overtime after both teams tied again at 47 at the end of the fourth quarter. The Trojans overcame the Maroons and won 63-53. Cailyn Morgan ’19 led the Women of Troy with 20 points, followed by Rachael Saunders ’18 with 13 points. West will take on Indianola at the Wells Fargo Arena for the semifinal game. The game will begin at 11:45 a.m. and there will be a pep bus going up, which will cost students $10 for the trip and ticket to the game.
