Emily Hughes ’86 graduated from West High in 1986. She went on to the University of Michigan for her undergraduate, then to Yale for her master’s. Afterward, she went back to Michigan for law school. When she was starting to study law she never pictured herself involved in criminal law; however, with the guidance of amazing professors, she fell in love with public defense.
