My theme for this photography project was the Iowa City West Girls track and field meet. I chose this theme because I wanted to try out capturing an event and especially one that requires a lot of patience and focus. In this project, I covered several events with a variety of athletes at the J-hawk Relays. I learned several things but one I will be sure to experiment more with next time is aperture. I am happy with my photos but next time I will experiment with aperture more so my photographs are more focused on the athletes.

PURE JOY at Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School, Tremeice Carter ‘22 giggles in the West High section after finishing her race. Carter jumped and ran in several events throughout the day including the long jump, sprint medley, 4 x 200, and the open 200 meters. “I really love track because it is an outlet to release stress.”
