“Brain rot” is defined as low-quality media that supposedly deteriorates one’s intellect. Brain rot was first popularized among Gen Alpha, however, Gen Z adopted it shortly after.
Terms that were once used to mock Gen Alpha are now used in a variety of contexts. The terms associated with this media are enough to give any English teacher a stroke. Phrases like “What the sigma” and “rizz” plague the West High halls.
In this video, teachers Megan Boehme, Marshal Moellers and Renee Gibson put their knowledge to the ultimate test—deciphering what common brain rot terms mean. The teachers will be given a term and a sentence to accompany it. They will have an unlimited amount of guesses. Stay tuned to see which teacher knows the most about brain rot.
