Originally, iJAG’s student leaders were scheduled to attend the annual legislative day at the capitol Feb. 18, where they would be able to meet and observe members of the House and Senate. This would occur while the rest of iJAG and AVID would be going on a tour of the capitol campus. However, inclement weather that day forced cancellation of the legislative day and postponement of the campus tour.
Consequently, juniors and seniors from West iJAG and AVID had the opportunity to go on a tour of Iowa’s state capitol and campus in Des Moines March 11.
Looking ahead, iJAG’s freshmen and sophomores will be getting into competition season, with the Skills Development Conference in May, while juniors will be preparing to take on larger leadership roles next year.
