Second national signing day
Seniors signed their National Letters of Intent on National Signing Day.
Wednesday, Feb. 3 marked the second National Signing Day for West High’s seniors this year. Friends and family gathered in the cafeteria after school to eat treats and show their support as eleven athletes signed their National Letters of Intent.
The senior athletes each took some time to thank those who have helped them accomplish their goals throughout the years. Once everyone had said their thanks, the athletes officially signed their letters.
Three athletes signed to Kirkwood College, with JD Goodfellow signing for golf and both Austin Miller and Spencer Wiskus signing for baseball. Yeshuwa Hicks and Malik Eskridge both signed to Iowa Western College for football. Fellow football teammate, Bryson Adcock, will continue his football career at Augustana College.
The remaining athletes all signed their letters of intent for soccer: Claire McDonnell to Winona State University, Katie Olson to the University of Northern Iowa, Payton Pottratz to Iowa State University, Caitlin Ryan to Wartburg College and Antonio Sanchez to Drake University.
