All about love
“West Side Story” has compiled some tips and tricks in order to celebrate this year’s Valentine’s Day the best way possible.
Ah, Valentine’s Day! The time has finally come where it’s justifiable to down a couple bags of chocolate and binge on sugary treats ‘til our stomachs ache. But for some, Valentine’s Day evokes fear. Fear of being alone or of not doing enough for that special someone. Whether you are newly single or checking off yet another month with your beau, Valentine’s Day can easily be a fun day for anyone willing to celebrate. Here are some ways to make the most of this Feb. 14th.
Bring on the sweets:
Go on a shopping spree. Is there a specific chocolate you have been absolutely craving lately? Go buy it. Really, why not? If money is an issue, then just wait for Feb. 15 and buy yourself some candy on a discount. Either way, celebrate this day with your favorite chocolates.
Treat yourself:
Relax and take a day to care for yourself. Self-love really is key. Wrap yourself in your coziest blanket, watch your favorite movie and go ahead, eat that ice cream straight from the tub. Make today all about yourself and buy yourself that cute outfit you’ve had your eye on for forever. Sometimes boosting your own confidence is the most effective way to make the most of any day. If you’re really feeling it, go exercise or try something brand new… just do you.
Treat your loved ones:
Go out to dinner with someone you care about. Sometimes some good food and conversation is all that is necessary for a great night out. Buy your friends and family presents– they don’t have to be expensive– all they need is a reminder that you are there and love them. Make yourself and your loved ones a nice home-cooked dinner– or maybe order your favorite take-out– and let delicious food bring you together.
Do something spontaneous:
Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but never gotten around to doing? Give it a shot. Step out of your comfort zone. Hey, maybe even ask someone you’re crushing on out on a date. Buy your matchmaker results and see where that takes you. Unsure of whether or not to do something different for your date? Take a chance. Change might be just the right thing to make this day even better.
Make it like any other day:
After all, Valentine’s Day really isn’t that different from any other day. Follow your usual routine. This Feb. 14 is a Wednesday, which is the most bland day of the week anyways. If you aren’t really in the holiday spirit, then don’t force yourself to be. Go about your usual day, get things done, be productive and then sink into the warmth of your blankets after a day well spent.
