As far as football infamy at West High, the legacy of Nate Kaeding ’00 carries on. During his time at West he won state soccer titles and set a school record while kicking for the football team. After his graduation from West High in 2000, Kaeding kicked for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. He was drafted in the third round to the San Diego Chargers, where he would go on to have a successful nine year career. Post NFL retirement, he returned to school to earn his masters in business at the University of Iowa. Today he manages and directs many different business in the Iowa City area.
