On Jan. 9, West High students involved in after-school activities evacuated the building due to the fire alarms sounding at roughly 5:55 p.m. The alarms went off during West Side Story’s print work night, Theatre West’s Students Producing Innovative Theatre rehearsal and girls and boys basketball practice.

The students evacuated and stood outside until 6:02 p.m., when the fire department arrived and shut off the alarm. There ended up being no burning fire in the building and all school activities resumed. No property or people were reportedly hurt.
