Emma Stammeyer ’24 is described as a powerhouse for the role she plays as the starting setter for the Iowa City West Varsity Volleyball team. In this video, Stammeyer details her commitment to Fordham University (Bronx, New York) and starting a new chapter of college volleyball. Additionally, she reflects on the past four years she had in the volleyball program, along with the lasting memories that she created with her teammates.
As playing volleyball runs in her family, Stammeyer knew from a young age that she wanted to play, too. She has played for West all four high school years, making it on the varsity team. Stammeyer watched her teammates get recruited and decided early on that she wanted to keep playing volleyball past high school. With the help of her family and coaches, as well as teammates, Stammeyer successfully made it into Fordham’s D1 volleyball program.
