The Iowa City West High girls’ varsity tennis coach, Richie Redfern, has resigned from his position.
“He received a great full time job to work with a local TV network,” said Elena Wilson’13, a member of the team. With tennis season just around the corner, search for a new coach is in process.
“We are all very anxious to see who the new coach will be,” Wilson said. This will be the second year in a row the girls tennis team will have a brand new coach. “It will be a whole new adventure … but I know the team will have a blast together like we always do,” she said. Wilson also noted that there is still preseason training going on in indoor courts.
