Cheerleading
Vignato is a freshman at West. Like many, she tried out for the cheer team this year. Her experience with gymnastics landed her a spot on the team as a flier. Vignato enjoys being up in the air but believes tumbling is where her strengths lie. Though initially hesitant to join the team, Vignato was encouraged by captain Leiya Rodriguez ’25 to keep her spot.
Disabilities
Both Vignato and her sister, Grace Vignato ’26 are dyslexic, dysnomic (impaired ability to recall words, names, or objects) and dysgraphic (impaired written expression). Vignato says that although she loves to read, dyslexia makes it difficult. When reading in groups, Vignato often finds herself making less progress than her peers.
Vignato doesn’t view her disabilities as an obstacle, however. She is passionate about educating others about them. When Vignato was younger, she and her sister sold homemade cookies to raise money for the University of Iowa’s Reading Research Center. Alongside their friend, Talen Shibli-Rahhal ’26, the pair raised $64.
Fashion
Vignato’s love for fashion stemmed from getting her ears pierced in seventh grade. She found enjoyment in matching her outfit to her earrings. Vignato has accumulated 120 pairs of earrings and is continuing to expand her collection. Although she does not dress to one specific aesthetic, Vignato finds herself leaning towards cottage core, Y2K, grunge and dark academia styles.
