To begin their double header April 12, the Trojans competed against the defending 1A state team champion, Xavier. Beginning their matches at 9 a.m., the teams competed for almost four hours, but West ultimately fell to Xavier 3-6.

After tough competition against Xavier, West traveled to the Veterans Memorial Tennis Center to play Cedar Rapids Jefferson. As they played, the smell of funnel cake and lively announcements carried over from the Kernels game at the nearby Veterans Memorial Stadium. After quick matches in singles and doubles, West defeated Jefferson 8-1.

West will return to their home courts April 17 to take on Prairie and travel to Dubuque to compete against Dubuque Senior and Western Dubuque April 19.
