West uses last-quarter momentum to overcome Waterloo East
The boys basketball team hosted Waterloo East on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
Bright lights shinned down on the freshly cleaned court. As the music blasted during warmups, students and parents began to file in. Once the game begun the only sound that filled the gym was the ball bouncing up and down with an occasional yell from the stands. The Trojans battled hard in the first half to gain a narrow lead, 31-29, going into the second half of the game. The third quarter was no different: going back and forth on who had the lead. West started the fourth quarter up 49-48. By the end, the Trojans defeated Waterloo East 74-61. Patrick McCaffery ’19 led West with 35 points followed by Even Brauns ’20 with 18 points. The Trojans will host Xavier on Friday, Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
