A day in the life of a swimmer
Many sports have grueling practices and training schedules, swimming is no exception.
Imagine spending two hours swimming back and forth doing a combination of sprint, distance and drill sets. Now, imagine doing that twice in one day. For the athletes on the West High girls swim team, days start and end with swim practice. While most high school athletes practice after school and some lift weights before, swimmers have two practices each day just about everyday. Below is what a typical West High swimmers’ day may look like.

How are any of these swimmers getting enough sleep? They get home for dinner around 9pm and have to wake up 8 hours later. I don’t know how they’re able to recover from the workouts on that schedule.
