Optimizing matchomatics

Two staffers detail the social experiment they conducted with the annual matchmakers survey.

Shortly after Valentine’s day, many West High students paid to receive their matchomatics quiz results. With love on the mind of many throughout the month of February, staffers Marta Leira ’21 and Isaac Young ’21 decided to conduct an experiment with the matchomatics quiz. To do this they worked with a psychologist, along with the founder of the survey itself, to create a John and Jane Doe who would be most likely to match with the largest number of students.
