Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed into law a bill requiring schools to offer 100% in-person instruction on Friday, Jan. 29. This bill takes effect on Feb. 15. In light of this recent and fast-approaching change, the ICCSD school board has decided to give teachers a day to prepare their classrooms and lesson plans. No classes will take place Friday, Feb. 12 for online or in-person students. Teachers are expected to review new health and safety protocols and clean the building.

In an email sent to families from ICCSD Superintendent Matt Degner, students and guardians were reminded that the last day to make enrollment changes is Feb. 3, and that they may do so at the district provided site. They have the option to choose 100% online learning or 100% in-person learning as the hybrid option has been eliminated. These changes will be put into effect on Feb. 15. Students may also wait to switch their learning model until the start of third trimester beginning March 11. Any enrollment questions can be directed to West High administration
