On Friday, Dec. 8th, the Coralville Community Food Pantry hosted its annual winter community meal at the Coralville Recreational Center. The place was bustling with life as community members came together to enjoy Polish cuisine straight from head chef Kate Wolniak-Bujakowska. The food pantry served 508 meals to the Coralville community, a groundbreaking new record. In addition to a free meal, there were various services and activities for the community to enjoy at no cost. Namely, flu and COVID-19 vaccines given by RX4Prevention, children’s books provided by the Coralville Public Library Teen Advisory Board and glitter tattoos and games from Mariam Girls’ Club.
These free meals wouldn’t be possible without the food pantry’s volunteers. The Coralville Community Food Pantry always appreciates a helping hand. For more information on how to volunteer, visit their website.
