After the first “funnel” deadline, many bills in Iowa’s legislature are no longer up for debate. To survive the deadline, bills have to pass their committees first, and therefore be eligible for debate on the floor of their chamber. This means the bills at the top of legislator’s priorities likely passed, but those on the back burner can get left behind.
There are lot’s of bills still up for discussion, ranging from agriculture to education. Because they’re so numerous, WSS has condensed a list of bills that may pertain the most to those in high school.
