Boys wrestling

Junior Alexander Pierce returns after two state runs, finishing first place freshman year and second place last year. Pierce returns to the weight room as a leader and role model, setting a strong example for others around him. He has started this winter season strong with an overall 4-1 record and a second-place finish at the Dan Gable Donnybrook Tournament.

Charles Barnhouse is a sophomore wrestling at the 126 weight class with a record of 5-2 and 5 pins as of this season. At the Dan Gable Donnybrook tournament, Barnhouse finished with a 4-2 record winning his consolation bracket.

This year’s addition to the team is senior Cole Krutzfeldt. A two-time state champion from Montana, he brings more skill and leadership to the wrestling room. So far this season, he has a record of 4-2, with much more to come in his efforts towards a third state championship.

Girls wrestling

Senior leader and team captain Trinity Myers brings an undeniable dynamic to the squad this season. Ranked eighth in 2A at 120 pounds at the beginning of the season, Myers has kicked off the year with an impressive 10-5 record, securing all 10 wins by fall. A standout performer, she was one of just three girls to qualify for state last year. This season, Myers continued to make waves by placing seventh at the Donnybrook Tournament, the only West athlete to reach the finals.

Adding fresh energy to the team is Emerson Reimers ’28, a promising new face in the 170-pound weight class. Known for her toughness and grit, Reimers is a hardworking and caring teammate who consistently pushes herself in the wrestling room. Keep an eye on this rising star as she makes her mark this season.
