How to submit your school photo to the Trojan Epic Yearbook

In order to meet the Trojan Epic yearbook deadlines that ensure we can complete and distribute our yearbook by the end of the school year, we need your help. The Trojan Epic Yearbook staff needs students in grades 9-12 to submit their own digital portrait photos for the 2020-2021 yearbook. It is not necessary to print photos or for a professional photographer to take your photo. Photos taken with a personal phone or camera are acceptable.

Deadlines:

  • Dec. 11, 2020 — Optional early bird deadline: submit your photo by this date to be entered into a drawing for a free yearbook*
  • Jan. 7, 2021 — Final photo deadline for students in grades 9, 10 and 11
  • Jan. 21, 2021 — Senior photo deadline
  • Jan. 28, 2021 — Last day to order a senior recognition ad: click here to order an ad and here for example ads from the 2020 yearbook
  • Jan. 29, 2021 — Last day to submit a senior photo with a $5 late fee
  • Feb. 19, 2021 — Last day to order a yearbook: click here to order a 2020-2021 yearbook. Check here to see if you already purchased a yearbook.

*If you win the drawing but already pre-purchased a yearbook, you’ll have the choice of donating a need-based yearbook to a graduating senior in your name or having the price of your yearbook refunded.

How to submit your photo:

  1. Go to http://www.images.jostens.com
  2. Your User ID is 415663936
  3. Complete the relevant information about the photo, upload and submit it on or before deadline.
    1. Under “Detail” write the student’s first and last name again
    2. You can check this spreadsheet to confirm we received your photo, making sure you select the correct grade level sheet. The spreadsheet is only updated periodically, and each grade level is a separate sheet.

Photo requirements:

  • Photos should be JPEGs.
  • Seniors can submit personalized senior photos like any other year, but students in grades 9-11 need to submit photos that resemble traditional school photos as much as possible.
  • Whenever possible, avoid selfies by having someone else take your photo.
  • Photos must be vertical; horizontal photos will be cropped to vertical.
  • The student’s face should be the focal point.
  • No props or hand gestures. No filters.
  • It is not necessary for a professional photographer to take the photo, but your photo needs to be high resolution (300 dpi). Personal camera or phone photos are fine.
  • The yearbook staff and adviser reserve the right to reject any photo that does not meet these requirements.

Other information:

  • If we do not receive a photo by deadline, only the student’s name will run in the portrait section of the yearbook under “Not pictured.” If you are unable to provide a photo, contact yearbook adviser Sara Whittaker to discuss other options.
  • If possible, West High hopes to offer the traditional, professional school portrait service at some point in the spring, although this would be too late to meet our yearbook deadline.
