The boys tennis team returned to their home courts April 16. to take on Cedar Rapids Prairie after beginning their season 2-0, with wins against Cedar Rapids Xavier and Dubuque Hempstead. Meanwhile, the Hawks began their season 0-3 after close defeats to Cedar Falls, Dubuque Hempstead and Waterloo West.
The singles began with Aryan Harwani ’29 falling to Prairie’s Dylan Schulte. The match began with Harwani winning the first set 7-6 (7-4), with Schulte winning the final two sets 4-6 and 1-0 (10-7). Prabhas Gupta ’28 took the court next, quickly defeating Brandon Smith 6-0, 6-2. After Gupta’s win, Aaron Kang ’27 easily defeated Bodie Cotts of Prairie.
Matthew Dockery-Jackson ’28 continued the winning streak for West after his win against Prairie’s Teddy Scott 6-0, 6-0. Jensen Lin ’27 and Sudarshan Kasturirangan ’26 rounded out the singles matches for West, where they won both of their matches.
West also swept in all three matches. Harwani and Pierce Hribar ’28 kicked off doubles for the Trojans, winning in two sets against their opponents. Kang and Lin competed next, sweeping their match 6-0, 6-1. Dockery-Jackson and Tommy Gao ’29 finished up the night for West, defeating their opponents in two sets as well.

The Trojans will return to the court to take on Dubuque Senior and Western Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa April 18. The Rams come into the match 1-0, after defeating Western Dubuque 5-4. Meanwhile, Western Dubuque has started the season 1-2. After the weekend’s matches, the tennis team will travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa to take on the Cedar Falls Tigers April 21.
