Theatre West also announced its lineup for the 2026-27 theatrical season on Friday afternoon.
In the fall, Theatre West will be presenting “Pride and Prejudice,” a play most famously adapted from Jane Austen’s classic novel. This show is a comedy about Elizabeth Bennett and the aristocratic Mr. Darcy. This show follows the two as they learn not to judge a book by its cover and find true love.
The spring musical will present the cult classic, “Les Misérables”. This story is centered around 19th-century France, following Jean Valjean, an ex-convict put in prison for 19 years for stealing a loaf of bread. After breaking his parole, he begins a new life, becoming the mayor of the French town, Montreuil-sur-Mer. Fantine is a factory worker, under the authority of Valjean, who becomes a prostitute to support her starving child. Following the mother’s death, Valjean is left with an orphaned child, Cosette, to take care of. In the years following, a student rebellion breaks out where Cosette falls in love with the rebellion’s leader, Marius. The musical continues, many plot twists and tragedies ensuing shortly after.
