Coming back from their second set loss, West won the first point and continued to fight a back-and-forth battle with the Jaguars. After a kill from Cyan Blommer ’29, who scored 11 total kills throughout the game, the teams tied 7-7. However, Ankeny started to pull ahead to 9-7, when West called their first time out of the set. Afterward, the Trojans fought to tie again at 10-10 and kept pushing to 14-13, forcing Centennial to call a time out. The teams were evenly matched, and tied again at 16-16 and 18-18, when Ankeny called their last time out.

West didn’t lose their momentum; with a kill from Sophia Austen ’27-who led the team with 16 total kills-they pulled ahead to 23-21. However, that’s when their run ended: The Jaguars scored four points in succession to win the set 25-23, winning the game 3-0. With the loss, the Trojans ended their 2025 season as state quarterfinalists.

After a first serve from Centennial, a kill from middle Audrey Small ’28 led to an immediate side out for the Trojans. After some back and forth, they eventually tied at 10-10, but Centennial began to pull ahead, forcing the Trojans to use both their timeouts at 15-11 and 20-14.

After the timeouts, Centennial continued to lead, taking the set 25-17.

The set kicked off at 12:25 p.m. with a serve from libero Izzie McDonald ’28. Although they lost the first point, the Trojans had a close fight against Ankeny Centennial to eventually tie at 4-4. They started to fall behind, however, eventually calling their first time out at 14-10, Ankeny.

They picked it up after their timeout, however, pushing Centennial into their first time out at 18-16. West continued to trail behind to call their second timeout at 23-20 and later tie it up at 23-23. However, Centennial scored two more points to wrap up the set 25-23.
