On Oct. 21, 2023, 4,250 Iowa High School students auditioned to take part in the 77th Iowa All-State Music Festival. On Nov. 18, 1,093 of the selected musicians and vocalists performed at the Hilton Coliseum. 40 West musicians and vocalists participated in the 77th Iowa All-State Music Festival.
