West faces City in dual meet

The Trojan wrestling team traveled to City High for the annual crosstown rival dual meet.

The fans were loud as West High and City High battled their crosstown rival in a dual meet on Thursday, Jan. 3. West fought hard, but ultimately fell to City with a final team score of 28-49. Will Hoeft ’20, Landon Green ’19, Parker McBride ’22, Hunter Garvin ’22 and Graham Gambrall ’21 all won their matches. The Trojans will host a tournament against Fort Madison, Lewis Central, Mediapolis, Pleasant Valley and Quincy on Saturday, Jan. 5. For the first time in program history, West will face off against Liberty on Thursday, Jan. 10. The meet will be held at Liberty and will start at 7 p.m.
