It’s Election Day, and after eight months, 9.4 million cases and 231 thousand deaths, an end to the COVID-19 pandemic is still nowhere in sight. Nevertheless, President Trump has taken to denying fact and declaring early election victory. The president’s blatant disregard for science has only resulted in preventable deaths and a disturbing acceptance of such among his supporter base. Even though Dr. Anthony Fauci has acted as a voice of reason in chaos, President Trump has vowed to fire him post-election. With Trump’s plans to announce a premature victory, the worst is yet to come. Say good-bye to logic and hello to perpetual fallacy. George Orwell’s 1984, anyone?
