Where to begin?

Needless to say, the current state of COVID-19 is frightening. With the weather getting colder, holidays approaching and people traveling, things can only get worse from here. Although a vaccine may be widely available by the spring, that is not an excuse to disregard CDC-recommended preventative measures during the winter months. Gov. Kim Reynolds’ latest “mask mandate” does too little, too late.

While I’m at it, why not mention how much richer Jeff Bezos has gotten during the pandemic? While millions have lost their jobs, family members and food security, Bezos can rest easy and enjoy the profits of his company. If you need to get someone a gift for the holidays or are feeling like buying impulsively, please don’t order off of Amazon. Don’t support capitalism.

If there is one thing everyone should do over Thanksgiving break, it should be to reflect on the experience of Indigenous peoples throughout American history and how we learn about them. Too often we forget that we live on land that isn’t ours.
