Science Olympiad team takes on regionals

Iowa Science Olympiad regionals took place Feb. 4 virtually at West High.

This weekend, approximately 40 West students competed in the Iowa Science Olympiad regional competition. The competition was held virtually at West High, where students competed in a total of 12 science-related events, including nine test events and three build events.

The events included:

Anatomy and Physiology
Astronomy
Codebusters
Disease Detectives
Dynamic Planet
Fermi Questions
Flight
Foresty
Green Generation
Rocks and Minerals
Scrambler
Trajectory

West High Science Olympiad will return for the state tournament Apr. 1 at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
