Writers and artistic directors are born in high school and shaped by their favorite clubs. Grapevine is a haven for these people, split into two sections: the editorial board and the writing club. The editorial board, student-led by Deeksha Raghavan ’25, meets on Tuesdays after school, while the writing club, student-led by Eva Esch ’25, meets on Wednesdays and Fridays before school. Both clubs meet in Mr. Robin’s room, number 106.
WSS: What is the difference between the editorial and writing Grapevine?
Raghavan: Writing is not connected to the issue. The writing club is a safe place to write and you don’t need to submit any work for publication. The editorial board puts the submissions together to make the magazine.
What kind of student would you recommend to join the writing club?
Esch: Anyone who enjoys writing or wants to express their creativity would be a great addition. If writing is inaccessible in their schedule or hard to make time for, the writing club would be a good option.
What kind of student would you recommend to join the editorial board?
Raghavan: Anyone who wants to be a part of the creative process but isn’t necessarily interested in writing or drawing. You don’t have to be artsy to be a part of the editorial board, it’s more focused on group work and just putting things together.
