The lack of options in Iowan stores leads Amina Ahmed '20 to buy her scarves when she visits Sudan.

For Amina Ahmed '20, wearing her head covering is a very visible expression of her identity. “Well, the first time when I went to school everyone was so shocked because I was the only one who wore one in the whole school,” she said.

“I wanted to start wearing one because my mom wore one,” said Amina Ahmed '20. The lack of options in Iowan stores leads her to buy her scarves when she visits Sudan.
